Harris County, Texas — The family, friends, and community of Jorge Arturo Gonzalez Jr., 33, are grieving the tragic loss of a beloved man whose life was taken far too soon. Jorge was fatally shot on January 28, 2026, in a dispute that led to his death. His passing has left an unbearable sadness in the hearts of those who loved him.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph Plattenburg (born August 7, 1984) and Jordyn Wells (born March 18, 1998) have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with Jorge’s death. Authorities believe the suspects shot Jorge during an altercation over money owed. The swift arrest of the suspects is credited to the dedicated work of homicide detectives and SWAT.
While the details of his death are tragic, those who knew Jorge will remember him for the vibrant and loving person he was. He was a dedicated father, a loving son, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. His laughter was contagious, and his presence brought joy and light into any room. Jorge is survived by his son, Jorge “LJ” Arturo Gonzalez III; his parents, Jorge Arturo Gonzalez Sr. (Beatriz) and Misty Bartolomei (Jorge); his siblings, Amber Castro (Rick), Ashleigh Champagne (John), Alex Gonzalez, Adriana Gonzalez, and Arturo Gonzalez. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, and his grandmother, Peggy Stansbury (Dan), who will forever carry his memory.
Visitation services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003. Visitation hours are Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
