Ruby Quiro Santos Death, Obituary New Bedford Mass.

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Ruby Quiro Santos, 23, of New Bedford, died tragically as a result of injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle crash on January 30, 2026. She was pronounced dead at the hospital on January 31 after being critically injured in the incident. Her passing has brought deep sorrow to her family, friends, and the greater New Bedford community.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn reported that Ms. Santos’s vehicle had become disabled in the left lane of Route 18 North. A motorist and two New Bedford Police cruisers stopped to assist. While Ms. Santos and another woman were approaching the vehicles, a third vehicle struck both individuals before colliding with another vehicle and a police cruiser.

The second woman was transported to the hospital and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Ms. Santos is remembered for her kind spirit and the meaningful connections she shared with those around her. Though her life was cut short, she leaves behind lasting memories and a legacy of love among those who knew her.
