Israel Castrejon Trejo Death, Obituary Meridian road rage shooting, Nampa, Idaho
On Sunday afternoon, January 26, 27-year-old Israel Castrejon Trejo from Nampa, Idaho, was fatally shot in what authorities suspect to be a road rage incident near the McDonald’s at 195 E. Central Drive in Meridian. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by multiple gunshots.
Meridian police suggest that the confrontation likely began due to a traffic dispute on Interstate 84. Eyewitnesses and possible video footage show that Castrejon Trejo, who was unarmed, was shot while trying to flee from the alleged shooter, Jacob Streat, 23, of Nampa.
Streat has been arrested and faces a felony charge of second-degree murder, with a bond set at $2 million. Investigators confirmed that Streat fired more than a dozen shots from his silver 2023 Toyota Tacoma, while Castrejon Trejo was driving a blue 2009 Honda Accord. Authorities are still seeking more witnesses and ask anyone with relevant information to call 208-888-6678.
